Celebrating International Womens Day across the region and political divide, women politicians agree gender equality benefits all of society. Women throughout the Palestinian Territories and Israel celebrated International Womens Day on Thursday. The event, sponsored by the United Nations, was made an official national holiday in Occupied West Bank and Gaza. Hanin Zoabi, the only female Arab member of the Israeli Knesset (MK), says women in politics benefits the community as a whole. "I am not referring to the biological woman here, am speaking about a feminine look at the political positions. A view that believes more in justice and equality; because when we say a feminine view, it can come from a man too, not only from a women. So when we say a woman has to enter the political representation, first off this is her right, but besides this the public, the community, benefits," said Zoabi. Two years ago, Zoabi, one of only 10 Arab parliamentarians in the Knesset, was attacked in parliament for her involvement in the Turkish aid flotilla to Gaza, an initiative she stands by to promote freedom. One of Zoabis main critics, and fellow parliamentarian, Anastassia Michaeli, tried to attack Zoabi at the Knessets podium. Michaeli is a 36-years-old mother of eight, and a member of Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Leibermans right wing party. She is famous for her outspoken verbal and physical attacks on Arab parliamentarians in Israel. As a working mother she concentrates on <b>…<b>
