Political Opinions: Should You Share?

Political opinions and values are deeply held, and its easy to get into an argument when they come up. So should you even bother being open about your politics, or should you keep them to yourself? Ana and John disagree about the value of political arguments. What do you think? Are you open about your political beliefs and values? Or do you think people are best off when they hide their opinions to avoid arguments? Have you gotten into any epic political arguments recently? Let us know! I agree 100%. A lot of us are starting to pussy foot around. I mean by us I mean 20 somethings. We’re seriously in need of taking a stand on something, and telling the conformist to screw themselves. When we do talk about politics, we purposely leave out facts, or dismiss them as simple speculation when its further from the truth. Anyway I’m worried that conservatism is going to win out in this culture war, America is becoming fascist.

depends. if you can see the person you are speaking with is mature then I think its not that big of a deal as its easy to find common ground, but as a rule of thumb don’t force that kind of conversation.

Depends where you are, if you are at liberty university or BYU you might want to keep your progressive views under the radar, or a strong republican at some place like Hampshire college.

The kid in this video is a pussy. Be open and truthful, don’t be a pussy. If they’re not open minded it’s not your fault. It’s their fault that they’re a prick and get offended easily.

@ShinoAburame37 He fails as a person for viewing you as a failure

good topic, but, I happened to freeze at 1:15 because I had to do something, when I realized what I freezed on was rather funny. Sorry Ana.

@gsharp2000 and Conservatism is a debilitative pathology

I got BYU idaho, a very conservative school as you probably know, so when I talk about my political beliefs, being pretty progressive, with the other students, they act like I’m the Antichrist!

  9. JDaKingman Says:

@Seanze329 The question here is WHY? Why is it "natural"? Why do we label frequent human tendencies as "natural" and act like there’s nothing wrong with it instead of asking "WHY’?

  10. KoulMomo Says:

It depends on what the political issues are. If they’re based on policy differences, then you CAN have a discussion as you debate facts. If they’re about social issues you can’t.

  11. Seanze329 Says:

@JDaKingman To point out it’s silly to blame something humans naturally do on the illuminati.

Um… someone tell me what’s wrong about being a Tea Party supporter?! Please and thank you.

  13. DeJach Says:

Sharing your political opinions is a great way to weed out the idiots (or reveal yourself as an idiot to others). That said, politics is the mind-killer.

  14. OwlheartXx Says:

    @ooMONKEYoo Haha! I would too.

    @ShinoAburame37

Yeah, it definitely takes away from a potentially constructive and informative debate, even if neither side were to change their view.

  16. gsharp2000 Says:

Well cant talk to a lib. Like Michael Savage says, "liberalism is a mental disorder."

  17. MrHav1k Says:

    NO

  18. sobeboyzz Says:

Nah, I’m a radical egoist, so that would never go well with anyone. People are never reasonable or open-minded, that is a myth. So I just pretend to share the opinion of whoever I am talking to.

  19. sajm4315 Says:

    NOPE

Bad idea if its in an office setting…..Can really back fire on you….

  21. buntaboss25k Says:

    is that dude banging ana

  22. North2016 Says:

It depends on how you state your beliefs.

Someone saying "I’ll vote for Obama because he is a Democrat" will get angry responses.

  23. ZealotKommunizma Says:

Hell yeah. Especially when considering that in regards to politics few things are objective. All that is required is logical consistence. As for being judged for them? To hell with that.

  24. oexnorth Says:

What the hell was going on with that thumbnail?

  25. TheJam1192 Says:
